Have you noticed that there have been several odd & mysterious things happening on YA lately?

Or is it just me. I responded to Jackie Blue’s question about 1-year olds getting married in Saudi Arabia. See first link below. But it never appears with the posted questions – see second link. And that is just one of many strange things I’ve seen.

I wonder if this recent news is part of the reason . . .
The gloom at Yahoo thickened this week, as the company suffered a series of high-level resignations. At least six or seven EVP or SVPs have quit in the last fortnight. They include Joshua Schachter and Stewart Butterfield, the founders of social bookmarking tool Delicious and photo-sharing website Flickr, both acquired by Yahoo in recent years; Vish Makhijani, head of Yahoo Search; and Brad Garlinghouse, head of communications.

Did you go into Jackie Blue’s Q&A profile and answer the question directly from there Galdys? That is all that I can think of that will explain it. You probably answered the one that didn’t make it onto the seniors page for whatever reason.

What is the protective seal Olivia?

  2. Cheryl P Says:

All over in Yahoo, things have been weird the last day or two. I think these sites are being terribly neglected, and it shows.

  3. ~~~FIESTY LITTLE WOMAN~~~ Says:

yes i have noticed and im getting real frustrated with it..

  4. Miz D Says:

Yahoo does appear to be floundering. Maybe someone from Saudi Arabia is buying it?

  5. doxie Says:

Yes I have noticed how odd some things have been. Post that don’t make it, posts that make it twice. I just chalk it up to the cyber ghost!

I’ve noticed the same thing. What bothers me is when I sign on my points will change and it will send me back to answers mulitple days ago that I answered already. I think there is a high volume useage on yahoo answers sometimes the the machines that do everything get backed, it one of the problem of yahoo have automated programed computers doing a lot of the work instead of humans.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed it, I thought something was wrong with my computer

Uh-oh! Sad to hear, but of course profit making drives the market. I had not seen that Gladys, so thanks for bringing it to our attention.

  8. Pagan Queen Says:

I am sorry to hear this. I just found this site, and with Seniors was hoping ro find a nice place to come and visit with others.

  9. Lady Jexie Says:

Interesting. Only one odd thing for me.
    A question that was invisible.

Blogging at 360* seems slower than usual.
Only odd because they just upgraded recently.

I hadn’t read about those resignations.

Sigh, yes I have. I think the worst was when my protective seal disappeared, never to return.

  11. groovykarma Says:

Sites are neglected and it is sad

  12. Shar Says:

The only thing I have noticed today is that there is someone calling himself "Frizzed" or something like that and he is getting into all the categories and creating havoc.. Huge spaces. What I have done is to go to the bottom, give him thumbs down and return to my profile. But he seems to be everywhere. YA is not on the ball today I guess.

  13. Dinah Says:

Didn’t know about the Yahoo gloom of resignations either. Haven’t noticed anything strange going on. Maybe I’m not paying close enough attention. But from reading everybody’s answers, I guess I better conclude I stay more often ‘in Hawaii’ than I thought. ['senior moments']

    No more than usual.

I always thought odd and mysterious things happening were the norm for YA!! I’ve only been on since last October and I think there are always strange things happening!

  16. Me-She Says:

Well! Just when I thought it was all caused by the excess smoke from all our wildfires across the US interfering with the sattelite signals in some way! I, too, have have so many strange "glitches" & lost sites this week! All I can say is that I hope those people who left YAHOO took the money & ran far far away & they can change their names before their photos get passed around to the GP! Sounds like another group of the "overeducated" have decided to start their own websites…again! (joke)
It’s all tied into GRANT MONEY, so I’m certain they are still getting a retirement package thrown in, eh?
No one walks away from free coffee without a guilty conscience.

I have been following the buyout/takeover exploits of Yahoo/Microsoft, etc. for some time now. I too, wonder what is going to happen in the future. Will Y/A disappear overnight? Where will I go, what will I do? I sound like Blanche in "A Streetcar Named Desire". She said "I have always depended on the kindness of strangers", but she never had to contend with the Internet.

  18. armychick_2001 Says:

There are a lot of trolls on Yahoo that spend all their time reporting questions they don’t like, answers they don’t like, and even questions they didn’t get best answer to.

Once reported, by anyone, it is gone! You can appeal, but I have never heard of anyone winning an appeal.

Someone probably took offense at the question, and reported it. Not much we can do about it, unfortunately.

  19. Rita Says:

I did notice several weird things that caused me to wonder ; but frequently weirdness comes out of no-where online anyway .
