I’m planning to buy my laptop sooner or later but I’m sure, my head will get dizzy choosing what the best brand is. I know my specs. I want the high-end type, you know, the fastest, with the most memory, has all the features that I need. I work for an outsourcing company, writing blogs and website contents. I love to watch movies, opening at the same all kinds of social networking and bookmarking sites (delicious, friendster, squidoo, etc.), loves to download music and movies (legally, of course) and burn them to discs, watch movies online and other great things to do. Can anybody recommend the best brand for a laptop? Thanks….

I prefer HP, but Acer and Asus are good as well. Dell is the second worst. The absolute worst "computer" is a Mac. They are overpriced trash shoved into a computer shaped box. Avoid Macs at all costs. Even if they give you one for free, sell in on eBay (if anybody will buy it) and then buy a good laptop running Windows.

Dell sucks. Don’t go through them. They are usually cheaper, but you can tell. I really like Apple computers because they boot really fast and they can run several different programs at the same time. They also have lots of memory if you get a MacBook Pro. And you can run windows or the apple software.

I think most would agree with me, and buy yourself a new Toshiba laptop, comes with warranty and toshiba systems are fantastic, had mine 2 years never had an issue. Durable and powerful.

Dell XPS, hands down!
You can get a good one for $999, but you can also add some more features to it (RAM, HD space, graphics card, etc.) and get a super one for around $1,500.

You seem to be looking for more of a multimedia computer, this makes me lean more towards a Macbook/ Macbook PRO, or Dell XPS.
The disadvantage with Mac is i little harder to do something like blogging unless you get the microsoft expansion pack containing word, powerpoint, and excel. Not to mention it is quite expensive. They do seem to last a long time though that way you can get your money’s worth out of it.
Look into the XPS series from Dell, you do want an XPS that has a 15+ sized screen because you like to watch movies. The downside to this though is you get Vista (this can be easily solved by putting XP settings back on it) which some people don’t like (I personally don’t have a problem with it, but other people do), they are also quite expesnive. Also look at the Inspiron Series from Dell also very good for multimedia, but the problem is they are very large, and much slower than the XPS.
When I got my laptop I looked into each of these brands, but for what I was looking for, more for typing up essays. I needed a computer easier to type essays in word, and the Macbooks were just out of my price range. So, I went with the HP Pavilion dv9000 it is a very good computer pretty good all-around, but what you are looking for I would suggest either of the other two.
Good luck.
FYI Toshibas do not last very long.

Apple’s MacBook is the best. Once you get it you work with peace without being worried about Spyware,Adware and Viruses. No need to press "Alt.Ctrl,Delete anymore.
It’s gorgeous and super fast but little expensive though. http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_mac?mco=MTE3MDg
If you think its over your budget then you can get a refurbished one it also comes with Apple’s warranty.
Don’t worry about running PC software you can run Windows faster than a PC by using built in Bootcamp.
By buying a MAC you not only buy a great computer but you also buy peace of mind.
