   1, I am housebound and it stops me going nuts during the day

   2. Use it on my home pc to answer and ask questions

   3. Use it 24/7 almost (seems like it)

   4. YA is supposed to be a useful site to find answers, but it can be very entertaining and funny at times.

   5. Yes to a point it is social question asking

   6. YA to me is killing a few hours or more helping when I can.

   For me YA is just a creative take on traditional public forums with lots of exposure and therefor POWER. I use it to get ideas for marketing gimmics, ask questions I’m too lazy to answer myself, and keep myself entertained by interacting with the world.

   For me Yahoo! Answers is a way to help others with what I know and give my point of view on questions that deal with today’s issues.

   For me Yahoo! Answers is a way to glean various opinions from all kinds of people. I enjoy reading the responses I get when I ask a question, because every answerer is so different, and sometimes I see a side of something I’ve never seen before.

   Also, it’s a great way to learn.

   For me Yahoo Answers has been helpful. It has been a time passer. I use this site cuz I like it. Its different all the time. I use this site by sitting on my couch and relaxing with my laptop. I am here most of the day everyday. I live with chronic pain, so im down alot. This gives me something to do instead of watching TV.

   Yahoo Answers is a site for ppl to ask questions, but they cant be offensive, and I have to say though… You risk losing points everytime you ask or answer. There are mean ppl here and they report for no reason at all. BUT, there are nice ppl here too.

   Yahoo Answers is just a fun site. I like it. It has helped me alot. Ive even learned some things here.

   For me yahoo answers have broaded my knowledge on a wide range of subjects. I like hearing about wat is going on in the world.

   So far, for me it’s been a little competition in my office to see who can earn the points fastest (best a’s) I’m growing tired of it (about a month in) since it’s not very exciting.

   The questions seem mostly like folks don’t know how to do www research, since I find many of them could be answered with google, wikipedia, or yA itself (dupes).

   Questions I don’t answer are mainly of the immature, baiting, chat spray form. Questioners using yA as an polling system seems like a huge waste.

   And finally, there’s a large class of malformed and incomplete questions from folks that seem to have an issue, but are either ESL, poor spellers, poor typists or didn’t understand the yA interface.

   To me, it’s social googling.

   A unique boredom buster. If I feel like talking and no one to talk to I like to read questions and try to help with an answer. Keeps the mind distracted from other stuff going on also. Sometimes, I learn a few things too.

   a good way to pass time….and find out good information…about many different things
